Mumbai: Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Maharashtra, where he will lay the foundation stone for the ₹ 76,000 crores Vadhvan Port project in Palghar. Additionally, he will give a speech at the Global Fintech Fest 2024 in Mumbai.
“I’m excited to spend tomorrow, August 30, with the people of Maharashtra. I’ll participate in events in Palghar and Mumbai. I will be attending the Global Fintech Fest 2024 in Mumbai at approximately 11:00 AM. This platform brings together important stakeholders and highlights India’s advancements in the Fintech sector.
I shall thereafter be at Palghar for the Vadhvan Port project’s foundation stone laying ceremony. This is a very significant project that demonstrates our dedication to Maharastra’s advancement and port-led growth,” PM Modi wrote on X.
At the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, PM Modi will speak at the Global Fintech Fest in 2024. at approximately 11 AM. According to a press statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi will thereafter inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a number of development projects at CIDCO Ground in Palghar at around 1:30 PM.

More than 350 sessions at the conference will be addressed by almost 800 speakers from India and other countries, including regulators, policymakers, senior bankers, industry captains, and academicians.
It will also feature the most recent advancements in the financial industry. At GFF 2024, more than 20 white papers and thought leadership reports with insights and comprehensive industry data will be released.
One of India’s largest deepwater ports, the Vadhvan Port project would improve the country’s maritime connectivity and solidify its status as a hub for international trade.
Approximately ₹ 76,000 crores is the entire cost of this project. The press statement stated that its goal is to create a top-notch marine gateway that will support giant container ships, deeper drafts, and ultra-large cargo ships, all of which will increase commerce and economic growth in the nation.
Large numbers of jobs are anticipated to be created by the port, which will also boost regional economic growth and encourage local companies.
Using sustainable development principles, the Vadhvan Port project aims to minimize its negative effects on the environment and meet strict ecological requirements. Once open, the port will improve India’s access to the sea and solidify its status as a hub for international trade.
Along with laying the groundwork for 218 fisheries projects valued at approximately ₹ 1,560 crores, the prime minister will also support the nation’s infrastructure and production in this industry. More than five lakh job possibilities in the fishing industry are anticipated as a result of these activities, the press release stated.
Global Fintech Fest in 2024.
The Prime Minister will introduce the ₹360 crore National Roll Out of Vessel Communication and Support system. Within 13 coastal States and Union Territories, this project would gradually install 1 lakh transponders aboard motorized and mechanized fishing vessels.
ISRO created an indigenous technology called the vessel communication and support system that will facilitate two-way contact between fishermen and rescue operations when they are at sea.
Alongside the implementation of cutting-edge technologies like the Recirculatory Aquaculture System and Biofloc, the Prime Minister will also unveil other projects, such as the construction of integrated aquaparks and fishing harbors.
A sustainable life for millions of people working in the fisheries industry will be created by these projects, which will be implemented in several states and provide vital infrastructure and premium inputs to boost post-harvest management and fish output.
Additionally, the Prime Minister will lay the groundwork for significant initiatives involving fisheries infrastructure, including as the construction of fish markets, fish landing centers, and the development, upgrading, and modernization of fishing harbors. Expectedly, this will offer the amenities and sanitary conditions required for managing fish and seafood after harvest.
