Forces launch anti-terror operation

Kishtwar,

After a confrontation, the security forces killed two terrorists in Khandara, Kathua.

Two terrorists were eliminated by Rising Star Corps soldiers during the current operation in Khandara, Kathua. The Indian Army’s Rising Star Corps posted on X, “Operations in progress.”

Among the weapons taken from the neutralized terrorists were an AK-47 assault rifle, an M4 carbine manufactured in the United States, a handgun, magazines, a machete, a cell phone, a tarpaulin, and other military equipment.

Security troops disrupted a terrorist hideaway in Surankote town, in the Poonch region of Jammu and Kashmir (J-K), during the day as part of an ongoing anti-terror campaign.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police stated that on September 12, 2024, “a joint search operation was launched by Police/Army and CRPF in the general area of Chamerd Surankot in the wee hours” based on specific information.

“A perimeter was established, and the target region was examined. The militants who were hidden shot against the security personnel as they searched. But the security personnel set fire to it in return. The militants were able to escape by taking advantage of the dense woodland cover. The statement further stated that “more forces have been brought in and the entire area is cordoned off.”

Security personnel dismantled a hideout during the search and retrieved several weapons, ammunition, and food,” they stated, adding that a complaint had been filed and an investigation had been launched.
