New Delhi: When Prime Minister Narendra Modi makes his next trip to the US, former US President Donald Trump stated on Tuesday that he will meet with him. Amidst his campaigning in Michigan, the Republican contender for president made the declaration. Trump called Prime Minister Modi “fantastic”.
Trump informed the audience, “He happens to be coming to meet me next week,” but he gave no further information about their meeting.
PM Modi will attend the Quad Summit and the UN General Assembly’s in New York “Summit of the Future” while in the United States from September 21 to September 23.
US President Joe Biden will host the fourth Quad Leaders’ Summit in Wilmington, Delaware. On Sunday, he is scheduled to speak to an assembly of the Indian community in New York.
Additionally, on Monday at the UN General Assembly in New York, PM Modi will speak on the topic of “Summit of the Future.” This year’s summit topic is “Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow.”
In order to promote deeper cooperation between the two nations in the cutting-edge fields of artificial intelligence, quantum computing, semiconductors, and biotechnology, the prime minister will also meet with the CEOs of prominent US-based businesses, the foreign ministry stated.
Additionally, he is anticipated to engage with influential figures and other parties involved in the bilateral relations between the US and India.
The last time PM Modi and US President Donald Trump met was during the latter’s visit to India in February 2020. It was a “path-breaking” moment in bolstering the two countries’ relations, according to PM Modi.
Modi will participate in Wilmington, Delaware’s Quad Leaders’ Summit on September 21. The administration announced that, at the US’s request, India has consented to hold this meeting the following year. Speaking at an unrelated event in Flint, Michigan, the Republican presidential nominee made mention of the meeting with Modi for the first time.
Viktor Orbán, the nationalist prime minister of Hungary, whom Trump frequently praises in his rallies, and Andrzej Duda, the president of Poland, who once suggested dubbed a military facility in his nation “Fort Trump,” were among the foreign leaders with whom Trump met earlier this year.
